RPF salutes Hijam Irabot

IMPHAL, Sept 28: The proscribed RPF has shown its revolutionary salute to Hijam Irabot who had worked dedicatedly for the cause of farmers and other downtrodden people of the society.

A statement issued by publicity secretary T Leishemba mentioned that Hijam Irabot should act as ‘beacon light’ for the revolutionary movement in the state. He had worked to uplift the Manipuri society in every aspect of development.

It further mentioned that the colonialists have never done any good for the people of Manipur. The people have been harassed and tortured by the colonial forces of India. The dreams and aspirations of Hijam Irabot have been suppressed by the Indian government.

The RPF appealed to the people to stand united and work with dedicatedly to fulfill the dreams of Hijam Irabot.

IMPHAL, September 28: A team of the cdo/Imphal east arrested one KCP cadre identified as Sanjam Ibomcha Singh, 34, s/o (L) S Tomi Singh of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai from his own locality, stated a SP Imphal east press release. On verification, he disclosed that he is an active member of the KCP and he was involved in activities like recruitment of cadres for the part, it added.

Awareness campaign

IMPHAL September 28: The Kishan Development Association, which has its registered office at Sadar Hills in Senapati district, in collaboration with the Environment and Ecology wing, government of Manipur had organized a two days awareness campaign on the theme “Biodiversity Conservation” at Sadu Koireng Village, Saikul in Senapati district, said a press release issued today by the general secretary of the association.

The release added that the awareness campaign that was started from September 20 was held as a part of the National Environment Awareness campaign. During the said campaign public discussion was also held on mitigation and prevention of environmental issues, the release further added.

Request for revocation of transfer

IMPHAL, September 28: The Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai has requested the revenue minister to revoke the transfer order of T Manihar Singh, SDO/BDO, Saikul in the interest of the public through a representation.

The Inpi has stated that T Manihar was recently posted as SDO/BDO Saikul and has been discharging his duties sincerely and regularly and has managed to maintain a very good relationship with the local people.

However, he added that an order transfer has been issued for transfer of T Manihar from Saikul and as such the Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai has urged the revenue minister to revoke the transfer order of T Manihar Singh, SDO/BDO, Saikul in the interest of the public.

The forum formation function held at Majorkhul Community Hall was attended by Aphuna Gangmei, ex-executive engineer, Kh Joykishan, president TAKDO, Phenrijin Panmei, chairman Tarung V/A, Kamei Alulaona, Daiganglung Gangmei, Poujen Riamei, Meiri Gangemei, RT Yangreng, Akompu Phaomei, Chungjanglung Phaomei, Kapudai Kamei and Gaijenlung Palmei as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Training on adventure tourism held at Ukhrul

IMPHAL, Sept 28: A four-day adventure tourism awareness training Programme was inaugurated today on at Ifad Guest House at Sirui in Ukhrul district.

K. Kabid, Superintendant of Police Ukhrul, Dr. L. Surjit Singh-President MMTA and H. Radha Krishna Sharma-Managing Director-Seven Sisters Holiday were the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

All together 30 campers including 10 girls and 8 Officials are participating in the training programme. Three resource persons will deliver lecture on various topics on tourism developments aspects. This training Programme aims to create awareness about potentials of adventure & eco-tourism in the district. The said programme is sponsored by the Regional Director- Indiatourism NE, Guwahati, Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India.

K. Kabid highlighted the potentials and importance of Tourism, particularly in Sirui and adjoining villages and convey death future of Ukhrul lies in tourism if proper training of human resources and potential of natural resources is given utmost importance.

Prayer for end to blockade

IMPHAL September 28: The Manipur Peace Foundation in a release stated that the public should pray with open hearts for conclusion of the economic blockade.

It appeals to the state government to solve the problem amicably and also urges the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee and United Naga Council leaders to stop the ongoing economic blockade and to seek an alternative democratic agitation. It further stated that the general public should acknowledge that the economic blockade is out of the Law of God and causes danger to the right to life and undesirable under the article number 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948.
