SFI demands proper recruitment policy

Imphal, Oct 6: While expressing serious concern on the policy of the state government for the recruitment of primary teachers under SSA, the Students’ Federation of India in a press release appealed to the state government to adopt a proper recruitment policy as well as conduct a written test for TET passed candidates for the recruitment.

SFI said that the state board and council of X and XII standard examinations used to give minimum possible marks in the recent past. However the system was changed some years back keeping in view the inconveniences faced by the students of the state in pursuing higher studies outside the state. If the recruitment is done on the 50/50 basis of TET result and academic performances, the chances of those who passed the board exam s before the adoption of the new policy will be minimal.

In order to give equal chances to the candidates, the recruitment process should be done with a written examination of the TET passed candidates, SFI demanded while warning that the proposed policy of the government will jeopardise the future of education in the state.
