IMPHAL, October 15: Major general UK Gurung,YSM, IGAR(South) today flagged in a National Integration tour of Bangalore for children of Chandel district at Mantripukhri.
The tour was organized by 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South).
The children shared their experiences from the tour and thanked the AR for giving them such an opportunity.
Major general UK Gurung, YSM, IGAR(S) in his address shared his vision for a prosperous Manipur, building blocks of which will be laid by children who can transform the society for a better tomorrow. He emphasized the importance of inculcation of learning from such experiences in the educational and social fabric.
The team visited Bannergetta Wild life Sanctuary, Mysore palace, factory of BEML manufacturing heavy equipment and an International School during the ten days long tour.
During the tour, the children had an interaction with senior army officers and eminent personalities. The highlight of the tour was a meeting with legendary Indian cricketer, Rahul Dravid and a football match between the students and a team of the Para Regiment Training Centre.
Parents and teachers from all schools were present to welcome back their children.
