Kakching, October 21: A five-day long Ningtham Mela, 2011, which would go on for five days, has been inaugurated from today at the Composite Hall of Kakching Bazar in Thoubal district.
The Mela is being organized by Southern Handloom Weavers Development Federation (Kakching Handloom Cluster) under the joint sponsorship of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and the Commerce & Industries Department, Govt of Manipur.
The inaugural function of the Mela was attended by MLA of Kakching A/C Y Surchandra as Chief Guest, General Manager of DIC Thoubal S Thoiba as Functional President and Deputy Director (Handloom) of Commerce & Industries L Kamei as Guest of Honour. In all 27 stalls are participating in the Mela.
